1. Agreement to Terms

By contacting, hiring, or engaging The Mud Slinger ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by Lloyd Cutting in Burnaby, BC, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not engage our services.

These terms apply to all services provided by The Mud Slinger, including drywall installation, plastering, heritage restoration, Venetian plaster, custom mouldings, and any related work throughout the Greater Vancouver area.

2. Services

The Mud Slinger provides professional drywall and plastering services including but not limited to:

  • Luxury drywall installation and Level 5 finishing
  • Heritage plaster restoration (lath & plaster systems)
  • Venetian plaster, Marmorino, and specialty finishes
  • Custom mouldings, arches, columns, and barrelled ceilings
  • Acoustical plastering and standard residential/commercial drywall
  • Project management and consulting

All services are subject to a written estimate or proposal. Work scope, pricing, and timelines are confirmed prior to commencement.

3. Estimates & Quotes

Free estimates are provided without obligation. All estimates are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Final pricing may vary from the estimate if the scope of work changes, unforeseen conditions are discovered, or materials costs fluctuate significantly.

Important: We strongly recommend calling us before electrical or plumbing upgrades begin. Work completed by other trades after our estimate may affect the quoted price.

4. Payment Terms

Deposit

A deposit may be required to secure a start date, particularly for larger or longer-duration projects. The deposit amount will be specified in your written estimate.

Progress Payments

For projects exceeding a certain duration or value, progress payments may be invoiced at agreed milestones as outlined in the project proposal.

Final Payment

Final payment is due upon completion of the work, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Overdue balances may be subject to interest charges in accordance with applicable BC law.

Accepted Payment Methods

We accept cheque, e-transfer, and cash. Credit card payments may be accepted at our discretion.

5. Client Responsibilities

To ensure smooth project execution, clients are responsible for:

  • Clearing the work area of furniture, personal items, and valuables before work begins
  • Ensuring all electrical, plumbing, and structural work is completed before drywall installation
  • Providing reasonable access to the work site during agreed working hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Notifying us of any known hazardous materials (asbestos, lead paint, etc.) on the premises
  • Ensuring adequate ventilation and utilities (electricity, water) are available on site

6. Workmanship Warranty

The Mud Slinger stands behind the quality of our work. We provide a workmanship warranty on all completed projects. Warranty terms are specified in the project proposal and vary by service type.

Warranty claims must be submitted in writing within the warranty period. The warranty does not cover damage caused by client negligence, subsequent modifications by other contractors, structural movement, or normal wear and tear.

Material warranties are subject to the terms of the respective manufacturer.

7. Scheduling & Delays

We make every effort to adhere to agreed timelines. However, delays may occur due to unforeseen site conditions, material availability, weather, or circumstances beyond our control. We will communicate any anticipated delays promptly.

The client is responsible for ensuring site readiness on the agreed start date. Delays caused by client unreadiness may result in rescheduling and potential additional costs.

8. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing with a minimum of 5 business days' notice prior to the scheduled start date. Cancellations made with less notice may result in forfeiture of any deposit paid to cover scheduling and material preparation costs.

The Mud Slinger reserves the right to cancel or reschedule work due to unsafe site conditions, non-payment, or circumstances beyond our control.

9. Liability

The Mud Slinger carries appropriate liability insurance. Our liability is limited to the value of the contracted work. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, concealed defects, or damage caused by other trades or third parties.

Clients are advised to maintain adequate homeowner or property insurance throughout the project duration.

Note: The Mud Slinger is not liable for delays, cost overruns, or defects arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the client.
